This Page Showcases Non Coaster Rides at SFoG

Acrophobia

This ride is a truly intense experience. Riders begin by separating into 2 loading gates. The gates open and riders hop into the standing up seats. Of course there are no floors because of the ingenious design of "halfseats" by Intamin. Next Riders are locked into place and the signal to go is given. Now riders spiral up the 200' vertical tower. At the top the rotation slowly ceases and riders get a short but great view of the Atlanta skyline(voted as one of top 5 best views of the Atlanta Skyline by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution). But now the view dramatically changes. Riders seats tilt toward the ground at a hair-raising 15 degrees towards the ground. The motors shut down and the ride gets eerily quiet. At this point, riders have about 5 seconds until the drop. All of a sudden riders hear a loud click and the passenger ring is disconnected from the lifting ring. The ride plummets 161 feet towards the ground. At the last moment, the magnetic brakes stop the ride quickly but smoothly. If you get a chance to go to SFoG, I definitely reccomend this ride.

Free Fall

Prepare for a 10 story plunge on Free Fall. Riders are taken in metallic cars on an elevator lift to the top of a 10 story tower and pushed of the edge. 1st gen. freefall ride.

Thunder River

Ready to get soaked? Thunder river recreates what its like to go white water rafting. Riders sit in 12 person circular rafts and speed down roaring rapids. Just when you think you've had enough, watch out for the waterfall! Located in the Lickskillet section of the park.

Luckily this unhappy water character cannot be found on Thunder River

Monster Plantation

"Your invited to a picnic, monster picnic, where humans are allowed to stay!" The first thing that comes to mind to a regular SFoG goer when they hear those dreaded words is "Stop the wretched Music!". If you are new to Six Flags over Georgia, I reccomend riding this ride once, and only once, unless its a hot day. The stupid song will get stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Its an indoor boat dark ride. Riders are carried in 6 person boats gently though a plantation with, yes you guessed it, furry little monsters! But watch out when the boat takes a wrong turn and you plunge into "that scary ole' marsh". A good ride to cool off, but the end can scare really little children.

These horrible looking monsters remind me of something I saw on TV the other day...

Looping Starship

A classic inverter ship. The ride is made to look like a space shuttle. Riders face each toward the middle of the ship. As the ride begins, the ship swings higher and higher, until it hangs upside down for a moment. The ride then proceeds to do a couple of loops before slowing down until stopped. Keep your change tucked good in your pockets!

This song has nothing to do with the Looping Starship, but hey that ride doesn't really fit a song.

Great Gasp

This is a parachute-style tower. Up to three riders board a parachute-like contraption. The parachute quickly but smoothly is brought up to the top of the 215 ft. tower. Riders get a few seconds to look around before being lowered back down. Not that interesting of a ride.

Splashwater Falls

A simple boat ride. Riders get in a large boat that can hold anywhere from 12-16 people. The ride goes up a fairly small hill, turns around, and drops into a pool of water, drenching all riders and spectators on the exit bridge. Thats about it. Unless you really want to get wet, don't ride this ride.

Feels just like a Wipeout...

Wheelie

This is an Enterprise wheel. Each rider gets in a swinging car that is connected to a large wheel. The ride starts and spins fast while along the ground. It then tilts up into the vertical position. It stays there for a few rotations, then lowers and slows down. This ride is quite fun and give some intense G-forces.

Just another flat ride...

Dodge City Bumper Cars

Its a bumper car ride. If you don't know what bumper cars are, I feel sorry for you. I'll put into easy terms. There are cars. They have bumpers on them. You go in a circle while hitting other people. Thats about it. This is a good ride for the kiddies. If they don't like the bumper cars, go to Bugs Bunny World. There you can find lots of little rides made just for the little ones.

Hanson Cars

Riders board small cars shaped to look like turn-of-the-centruy automobiles. The cars gently ride along a senic path around Carousel Hill. The driver gets to operate the gas and brake, but is held on the path by a rail running along the middle. This is a good ride when you need to take a break. Young children love this ride.

The cars are so small, only people the same size as these people can ride comfortably

Riverview Carousel

Do you like historic nastalgia? Or do you like rocking chairs as you watch history circle by? If you said yes, then the Riverview Carousel is just for you. Originally located at Riverview Park in Chicago, this carousel takes riders back in its rich history. The horses are hand crafted. This ride was once used as a meeting point in between Al Capone and other mobsters during the mob days of Chicago. Six Flags over Georgia had it moved to its current location on top of the appropriately named Carousel Hill. This carousel is a wonderful place to go and cool off. The carousel is surronded by wicker rocking chairs for parents and family to rest while the little ones ride this wonderful ride. If you like history or a relaxing time, definitely take a visit to the Riverview Carousel.

Ahh, fond memories...

Deer Park Plunge

A log flume ride. Riders board log shaped boats and go down a twisting flume. Prepare to get wet at the end of the last drop!

Don't take a wrong turn...

Fearless Freep's Dare Devil Dive

3, 2, 1, Fly! Always wanted to fly? Well, here's your chance. This is an upcharge attraction, but it deserves notification. Riders put on body legnth harnesses and are led out to one of two loading platforms. Riders are hoisted up on a platform to the cord. The attendants attach the riders to the cords. A wench pulls the riders to the top of the back tower. One of the riders pulls the rope, and off you go! Riders swing back in forth under the mammoth structure. A very unique experience.

Hope that cord doesn't break, or your gonna feel as dead as these people...
